American Veterinary Medical Association

The mission of the Association is to lead the profession by advocating for our members and advancing the science and practice of veterinary medicine to improve animal and human health.  One of the ways this is accomplished is by providing educational resources for veterinarians in their stewardship of animal health and welfare.

Animal Legal Defense Fund

The Animal Legal Defense Legislative Fund works in legislatures across the country to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals by passing animal protection laws, supporting animal-friendly candidates, and empowering grassroots advocates.

Bailing Out Benji

Bailing Out Benji is a national, grassroots organization that is dedicated to researching the puppy mill industry and its connection to pet stores and online websites in order to create more informed consumers. Bailing out Benji’s network of volunteers focus on making local change in their communities through educational events, public PSAs and research.

Best Friends

Best Friends is working to convince pet stores to offer pets for adoption instead of selling mill-bred pets, educate consumers about puppy mills, and create and lobby for humane legislation.

National Mill Dog Rescue

National Mill Dog Rescue’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.

Southern Animal Volunteer Effort (SAVE)

SAVE raises awareness on animal treatment and educates households about spay/neuter and vaccinations. With the goal of making it easier for people to rescue pets rather than purchasing them, SAVE educates the public on the importance of adopting pets at local shelters or purchasing from reputable breeders rather than at pet stores, online retailers, or flea markets.

The Humane Society of the United States

Together with millions of supporters, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) takes on puppy mills, factory farms, the fur trade, trophy hunting, animal cosmetics testing and other cruel industries. HSUS rescues and cares for thousands of animals every year through our rescue and response team and other hands-on animal care services. HSUS fights all forms of animal cruelty to achieve the vision behind our name: a humane society.
